Food Tips:

1. You don't have to change everything in your

diet to eat healthier. Make a couple small

changes and focus on creating permanent habits!

2. Plan out your meals in advance for the week.

This helps you manage your hunger, prevents

overeating and decreases the chance of making

last minute unhealthy decisions.

3. Start your day with a healthy breakfast that

includes a source of protein. This will keep your

full and allow you to make better food choices

throughout the day.

4. Read food labels and make a grocery list. This

will prevent you from buying unnecessary

unhealthy items.

5. Read menus in advance! When you are going

to a restaurant, review the menu in advance and

select a healthy choice. This will prevent you from

choosing something unhealthy on the spot.

This is a really important tip if you eat out

frequently.

6. Use portion control. It's really hard to keep

track of how much you eat when you eat from

a large bag of snacks, such as popcorn or

chips. Small individual bags allow you to

control the portion, calories, fat and sugar.

A great alternative is to make your own

portion controlled small containers with

the snack of your choice.

This also saves money!

7. Don't eat on the go! It is also important to not

use screens or devices while eating.  Take some

time to enjoy your meal and only focus on eating.

8. Be mindful of the calories, fat and added sugar

in your drinks. Drinks can be a significant source

of calories and it is important to not drink all

of your calories for the day as they will not fill

you up.
